Derrick A. Walker, D.O., FACS

Graduated from the University of Utah in German and Chemistry and received his medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences in 2000. He completed his General Surgery residency at United States Air Force Medical Center, Keesler Air Force Base, MS in ’05. Dr. Walker proudly served in the United States Air Force finishing his service in ’09 and received the prestigious Meritorious Service Medal. He served in Operation Iraqi Freedom as the Director of Trauma, Kirkuk Region Air Base for five months. In 2007 he received Air Combat Command’s Surgeon of the Year and Field Grade Officer of the Year for the 366th Medical Operations Squadron, Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho.

Dr. Walker joined Palouse Surgeons July ’09 to work with his former Air Force colleague, Dr. Visger. He currently enjoys working as a Clinical Preceptor for University of Washington first year medical students in the WWAMI program. Dr. Walker prides himself on bringing cutting edge surgical technology to the Palouse, encompassing all aspects of general surgery with a focus on minimally invasive techniques. As part of being on this cutting edge he specializes in robotic procedures.Dr. Walker is a board certified general surgeon as well as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.





John S. Visger, M.D. FACS

John S. Visger, MD received his undergraduate degree from the University of Akron and completed medical school at Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine. He completed his surgical residency at the Western Reserve Care System in Youngstown Ohio. Dr. Visger is a board certified general surgeon as well as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Special surgical interests include thyroid, parathyroid and laparoscopic cases and robotic procedures.

Dr Visger is currently a clinical preceptor at the University of Washington for first year medical students enrolled in the WWAMI program.





Juan Parra, M.D. FACS

Juan D. Parra, M.D. received his medical degree from the Javeriana University Medical School, in Bogota, Colombia.

He completed his residency in general surgery at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, and stayed as clinical assistant professor in the same institution there until 2011. He has published several articles and done research in minimally invasive surgery and gastro-esophageal reflux disease, and has strong interest in gastrointestinal surgery, complex abdominal wall hernia surgery and benign and malignant colorectal disease treatment.

Dr. Parra is a board certified general surgeon as well as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Geoffrey D. Stiller, M.D. FACS

Dr. Geoffrey D. Stiller has happily returned to the Palouse bringing more than 15 years of surgical experience to our communities. Dr. Stiller previously provided General Surgical expertise to the Moscow/Pullman/Colfax area. After receiving his Board Certification from the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, he has returned to offer Cosmetic and General Surgery to the Palouse.

Dr. Stiller received his undergraduate at University of Minnesota. He completed his residency in General Surgery at Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, served as a general surgeon with the United States Air Force at Mountain Home AFB, and received his Board Certification of General Surgery in 2003. He is a faculty member to the National Society of Cosmetic Physician and the WWAMI program of the University of Washington Medical School teaching both accomplished physicians and novice medical students.





Jeffrey D. Jones, M.D.

Jeffrey D. Jones, MD received his undergraduate from the University of Washington and his Doctorate from the University of Washington School of Medicine. He served his internship with the University of Minnesota Hospitals and Clinics as well as Chief Residency at Minneapolis VA Medical Center. He also complete his gastroenterology fellowship with the University of Utah Hospitals in 1995.

Dr. Jones is a Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and operated his own private practice in Colfax, WA for many years prior to joining the team here at Palouse Surgeons. Dr. Jones performs all our GI procedures and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to GI care.

Dr. Jones is board certified in internal medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology.
